Nora asks: “How many questions do I need to get right to get a 100 score?”
The answer: Well, it all depends.
Basically, if you answer all questions correctly, you get a 100% score. But I guess that is pretty obvious. In most states you can skip questions, and concentrate on the ones you know the answer to. When you reach the number of correct answers needed, you are done. No need to go back. This score is calculated on the questions you answered.
Or in other words, you will hit 100%, even if you skipped questions.
On our tests, however, skipped questions are counted as wrong answers. Meaning you need to answer all questions correctly to hit 100%.
What are the rules in different states? In Pennsylvania, the knowledge test consists of 18 multiple choice questions. You must answer 15 questions correctly. In Wisconsin, as an another example, there are 50 questions. You must answer 40 questions correctly.
Check with your DMV office for the rules in your state.
