Every driver should know the state’s motor vehicle laws and policies and safe driving practices.
You must pass a driver knowledge test on Ohio motor vehicle regulations and traffic signs. The questions are multiple choice and are based on the material in the digest of motor vehicle laws. You must answer 75 percent of the questions correctly.
If you fail the knowledge test, you must wait at least 24 hours before retaking
the exam.
Customers may take the knowledge test in Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, Russian, French, Somali and Japanese. In order to pass however, all customers must be able to understand directions and read traffic signs printed in English.

At the discretion of the examiner, those who cannot read or write well enough to take a knowledge test may be permitted to take an audio version of the test in English. All such applicants must at least be able to read and comprehend
traffic signs.
The hearing impaired who are unable to read or write well enough to take a knowledge test may take a knowledge test administered by an interpreter or in video format.

Each test is based on Digest of Vehicle Laws, Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) issued by the Federal Highway Administration, and State laws. A test consists of 28 questions, and you must correctly answer 21 questions to pass.
Remember, you can take your preparation test over and over again. You will get a new set of randomly selected questions each time.
