&lt;em&gt;The Trucker is responsible to look to his left side.  A blind spot is only an area that the Trucker can not see the traffic around him without reasonable use of mirrors and turning to look.&lt;/em&gt; 

Unfortunately, this is a slight misunderstanding. Blind spots are the areas of the road that cannot be seen while looking forward or through either the rear-view or side mirrors. 

Turning your head briefly and look of your shoulder is a way of checking your blind spot.</description>
